Principal Will Foster announced that Stephanie Reid has been approved as the newest assistant principal at Banks County High School. She will succeed Dr. Brandy Reid, who has taken a position closer to her home and family.
Principal Foster stated, "Mrs. Stephanie Reid has been a tremendous asset to our school system by serving students through SPED and ESOL services. She has an impressive knowledge of these areas and experience in ELA, elementary grades, and leadership. Most recently, she served as our art teacher, facing the challenges of teaching a new subject head-on and experiencing high levels of student success in that role. I know she will serve our students, teachers, and community in her new position with energy, passion, and humility as she did in her previous pursuits."
With a career spanning two decades in the field of education, Mrs. Reid has an extensive background in education and leadership. She began her career in the Gwinnett County School System in 2004, working with visually impaired children. Reid was honored to be named Teacher of the Year in 2011. She worked as a reading specialist for elementary students. She later served in the leadership role of English as a Second Language Coach for teachers. She continued her career at Parkview High School, teaching world literature special education and coaching track and field.
Mrs. Reid became the first school principal at The Annunciation Day School in Atlanta, GA, where she led the school to receive its initial State of Georgia accreditation. In 2021, she and her husband moved to Banks County, where she has taught special education, ESOL, and art at Banks County High School.
Mrs. Reid holds an undergraduate degree in education from Brenau University, a Master's in Educational Leadership from Columbus State University, and a Tier 1 Leadership degree from the University of Georgia. She is married to Rob Reid, has three grown and married children, and three grandchildren. She enjoys cooking, art, and the great outdoors, but most of all, being with her family. She is thrilled to be a part of the Banks County High School team. She will join the Banks County High School leadership team of Assistant Principals, which includes Kaila Steele and Curtis Chitwood.
