Banks County Schools honored Coach Mike Gordon on Friday, April 3, officially naming the softball field after him. Family, friends, former players, employees, and community members gathered to recognize his lasting impact on the program and community.

On April 3, Banks County Schools hosted the 2026 Special Olympics, a day that brought together athletes, families, students, staff, and community. Known throughout the school system as “The Best Day of the Year.”

As spring gets underway, Banks County Schools is already looking ahead to summer. Coaches and teachers across the district are preparing a variety of summer camp opportunities for students, and this year families will be able to find all of that information in one convenient location.

Over the next two months, Banks County Schools will begin releasing summer camp details as information is provided by coaches and teachers. The new central location will make it easier for families to plan ahead by offering one place to find important details such as contact information, camp dates, sign-up information, and other updates.

By organizing summer camp information in one location, the district hopes to help families stay connected to school programs while also making summer planning more convenient.
