On Friday, August 15, 2025, Banks County Schools held a special dedication ceremony at Leopard Stadium to honor two families whose impact on our schools and community will be remembered for years to come.
Leopard Stadium was dedicated to the late Bobby Morris, who faithfully served Banks County Schools for 21 years as a teacher, coach, and driver’s education instructor. His wife, Dorris, daughter, Ashley, and son-in-law, Grant Funk, were present to celebrate his legacy.
The new turf field was dedicated to Mike and Jill White and their family, whose generous support made this significant upgrade possible for our athletes and community.
In attendance were members of the Banks County Board of Education, Superintendent Dr. Ann Hopkins, Assistant Superintendent Joy Edwards, and several former coaches and leaders, including Doug Thacker, Sam Moon, Dennis Marlow, Warren Standridge, and former Principal Bobby Whitlock. Many other coaches and community members also joined to celebrate this special occasion.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to Metro Site, Scott Ledford, and Eric Rogers for their work on the dedication plaque signage, and to Eli Cooper for providing the powder-coat finish.
