District leaders, including Superintendent Dr. Ann Hopkins and Deputy Superintendent Michael Williams, recently visited BCHS alongside school administrators to surprise both recipients and join in the celebration.
Principal Will Foster expressed his deep gratitude for both honorees:
"Heather Martin is an outstanding educator. She firmly believes that all students can achieve at high levels and that is evident in her craft. She is caring and supportive of all students and very deserving of the teacher of the year honor."
"Robin Easley is such an important member of the BCHS staff. She is the go-to person for many things that we do at BCHS. She also cares deeply about students and goes out of her way to make sure student needs are met. We are all lucky to work with her each day."
Both Mrs. Martin and Ms. Easley will be formally celebrated during the system recognition banquet in October, where the Banks County District Teacher of the Year will also be announced.
