Banks County High School has been recognized by the Georgia Department of Education School Nutrition Division as a recipient of the 2026 Cafeteria Award of Excellence.
The award recipients were celebrated last Thursday during the Georgia School Nutrition Association Kickoff Luncheon in Macon. Georgia State School Superintendent Richard Woods and Deputy Superintendent of School Nutrition Dr. Linette Dodson presented each winning school with a commemorative banner to display in its cafeteria.
Banks County School Food and Nutrition Director Nicole Blalock said the recognition reflects the dedication of the entire Banks County High School cafeteria staff.
“This award truly represents a team effort,” Blalock said. “Amanda Morris does an outstanding job leading the high school cafeteria. This recognition belongs to the entire team. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving our students each day made this achievement possible.”
Morris serves as the cafeteria manager at Banks County High School and works alongside a dedicated team of school nutrition professionals who serve students and staff each school day.
The entire BCHS cafeteria team was recognized for earning the award. Superintendent Dr. Ann Hopkins, Deputy Superintendent Michael Williams, BCHS Principal Will Foster, and School Food and Nutrition Assistant Director Rachel Nix personally thanked the staff for their hard work and dedication to serving students.
