Seniors participated in the 2nd Annual Adulting Day at Banks County High School. Students experienced guest speakers and activities during the event. Over fifteen presenters were available for seniors to discuss "Life After High School".

Katelyn Wilburn is a finalist in communicative arts for the Governor's Honors Program. The Governor's Honors Program is a four-week summer instructional program designed to provide intellectually gifted and artistically talented high school students with challenging and enriching educational opportunities not usually available during the regular school year. Activities are designed to give each participant opportunities to acquire the skills, knowledge, and attitudes to become independent, life-long learners. This year's Governor's Honors Program will occur at Georgia Southern University.

Students from Ms. Daniel and Mrs. Martin's classes at BCHS visited Helen this month. Students visited Helen because of its similarities to Germany. Students have been studying countries around the world and learning how to use a passport for their travels.

"They have been learning, researching information, and adding this information to their passport." stated teacher Heather Martin.

In Helen, students explored a German shop and learned about German pyramids, cuckoo clocks, nutcrackers, and more. They also went to Hofer's Bakery and Cafe to try German food such as bratwurst, knackwurst, sauerkraut, and German potato salad. They also enjoyed the beauty of Helen's scenery, including the waterfall.

After an intensive search and interview process, Banks County Schools hired Rhett Carroll as the new softball coach at Banks County High School.
