Banks County Marching Band 2024 Season
The Banks County Marching Band is proud to announce the details of its 2024 season.
Under the expert direction of James Geiger, the band continues its tradition of excellence, with strong support from the Assistant Band Director, Marcus Shockley, and Auxiliary Coach, Nikki Jones.
Percussion Instructor Jameson Shockley brings his skills to the percussion section. Drum Majors Callie Brown and Madison Holcombe lead the band on the field, with Lena Parker as the Field Conductor.
The Leadership Team is rounded out by a group of dedicated students:
- Captains: Chloe Reece, Jayda Holcombe, and Alyssa Zohoranacky
- Lieutenants: Desirae Evans and Hollie Miller
- Section Leaders: Sarah Polanco, Hayley Nix, Josie Cochran, and Jimmy Harrelson
Captains Serenity Wade and AJ Hughes lead the Auxiliary team, which is led by Lieutenants Harper Steele and Dorothy Ann Busenlehner. They ensure the auxiliaries shine during each performance.
This year’s show theme, “A Tribute to Our Country,” promises to be a crowd-pleaser with a selection of beloved songs that evoke national pride. The performance lineup includes:
- “Take Me Home, Country Roads” – A 1971 hit by John Denver, featuring soloist Alex Jimenez and a trumpet trio of Josie Cochran, Andrew O’Kelley, and Devin Rowley.
- “Blue Collar Man” – Styx’s 1978 classic, showcasing the talents of the band’s auxiliaries.
- Percussion Feature: “Razzle Dazzle” – A lively piece that highlights the skills of our percussion section.
- “God Bless America” – The show concludes with this powerful American favorite, sure to leave a lasting impression.
The band is set to compete in two major competitions this season:
- September 28, 2024 – Armuchee High School for the Armuchee Invitational
- October 19, 2024 – Harris County High School for the Sound of the County Invitational
