After facing much diversity this season, the team enters the state tournament with multiple contenders. With fourteen weight classes and nine wrestlers, the team has the potential to walk away with yet another state championship.
Junior wrestler Danny Evans had qualified for State, but Evans was eliminated from the tournament through a controversial decision.
"Danny had 28 wins on the season and was probably the best teammate on this year's squad. Danny cheered on his teammates. He encouraged them to do better and picked up the disappointed ones. Fortunately, Danny is a junior and has another year to win a State Championship," said Coach Kasey Hanley.
