Are you a student in grades 8th-12th and interested in playing collegiate sports? Join us for an information night on October 24th at Banks County High School.

Due to inclement weather, the Banks County Varsity Football Game has been changed from Friday to this Thursday, September 27th. Kick-off is at 7:30 at East Jackson High School.

The Banks County High School Fishing Team began its first tournament this past month. Last weekend, the team participated in Lake Hartwell's Franklin County Bass Club event. There were seventeen boats in the tournament.

Braxton Jawarski and Kasey Lowe placed third at the event.

Any junior or senior interested in attending UGA, please make plans to attend an informational meeting September 30th in room 203 during advisement

The Marching Leopard Band went to their first marching competition of the season Saturday, September 24th. East Jackson HS hosted the Georgia Contest of Champions. Banks County placed third in Class A (Up to 40 winds).
Each unit earned a “rating” compared to the other bands in their class for Class placements. There are two divisions (Class A, AA, and AAA are the Silver Division, and AAAA and up is the Blue division). These ratings then determined their placements in each division. Scoring is measured by 85-100 for an “I” rating and 70-84 for a “II” rating, and 55-69 for a “III” rating.

Seniors: You can apply to Georgia College for free between Wednesday, September 21 at 12 AM EST and Wednesday, September 28 at 11:59 PM EST. If you apply using the Common App use code "GCSU2023FW" and if you apply using Ga Futures select "fee waiver option". Georgia College is test optional for students with a 3.2 GPA or higher on the Georgia Required High School curriculum.

Banks County Board of Education recognized student Taylor Cheek for his outstanding work ethic, determination, effort, and excellence in his pursuit of chasing the Olympic Dream. Each month Banks County Schools participate in themes that encourage characteristics and actions that depict outstanding young people in our Banks County Schools. The September focus is Anything is Possible.

Banks County High School announced Mrs. Asha Ravencraft as Teacher of the Year and Mrs. Robin Easley as Classified Employee of the Year. Both will be recognized in November at the district recognition ceremony held at the Banks County Board of Education.
