The Women’s Energy Network (WEN) of Greater Atlanta is pleased to announce the 2026 Fueling the Future Scholarship, a one-time $2,500 award recognizing exceptional high school women from the Greater Atlanta area who aspire to pursue STEM degrees and ultimately careers in the energy industry. WEN is committed to cultivating the next generation of leaders and innovators in the energy industry. Through the Fueling the Future program, we aim to introduce high school students to energy-related career pathways and support the industry’s growing need for top talent.
Eligibility for the WEN FTF Scholarship requires:
1) You are a Female High School Senior,
2) Graduating in Spring 2026,
3) Currently hold a cumulative GPA above 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale),
4) Are a resident of one of the Greater Atlanta counties.
The application will require the name and email address of a contact for a letter of reference (this needs to be from a teacher, counselor, or other educational reference and not from a family friend, neighbor, or a relative) and also attach the following three (3) items:
1) Current HS Transcript
2) Acceptance letter or other evidence to confirm admission to attending college or university
3) A current Resume.
Please have these items ready BEFORE starting your application.
If you need to submit attachments after completing the online application, you will receive an email with a secure link to upload the required files. All submitted materials remain confidential and are shared only with the scholarship committee.
Application Timeline: The 2026 scholarship application period is open now.
and closes on May 1, 2026. Recipients of the Fueling the Future scholarship will be notified by June 2026.
To apply for the Fueling the Future Scholarship:
- Complete the WEN Greater Atlanta Fueling the Future Scholarship Application Microsoft Form.
- While completing your application form be prepared to answer these three essay questions:
Essay Question #1 (500 words or less) What inspires you to major in a STEM career?
Essay Question #2 (500 words or less) Tell us about a personal achievement that makes you proud.
Essay Question #3 (500 words or less) Provide a description of your current status if you come from a disadvantaged economic background, have to overcome significant obstacles in life, or let us know if you are the first person in your family to go to college.
It is expected you will complete the full application including the application, three essay questions, provide the name and email address for a letter of recommendation and provide the three attachments requested at the time you complete the application.
